This intricate jewelry set is called:
"Planting a Rainbow"
This set is inspired by my friend who makes the most beautiful flower bouquets
and loves the children's book 'Planting a Rainbow'
It is meant to convey the joyous feeling of Summer,
of colour everywhere, of festivals and sitting outside in the grass,
listening to music, eating and hanging out with your friends
It is a set consisting of a necklace and a pair of earrings.
The necklace is crocheted from hand dyed and hand spun
summery yellow and green, super soft merino wool with a picot stitch.
It closes with a little vintage button, but can be tied as well, to make it a bit tighter,
if that's what you like.
From the necklace hangs a vintage silver backing with 3 silver dangles.
On the backing I have sculpted a black polymer clay cabochon,
rimmed with an edge of flower petals in all colours of the rainbow.
The cabochon is also adorned with several smaller and larger flowers,
roses and petals in rainbow colours again.
The flower hearts are rhinestones in several rainbow colours as well.
From the backing hang a wine purple rooster feather,
an orange spotted guinea hen feather and a yellow guinea hen feather.
The earrings are handsculpted polymer clay cabochons again,
built on silver sun shaped filigrees.
These cabochons are also rimmed with flower petals in all colours of the rainbow,
and are also adorned with flowers, also with rhinestone hearts
and a fern in rainbow colours.
The same feathers hang from the earrings,
and they are adorned with lapis lazuli and carnelian beads.
Carnelian inspires creativity.
Lapis Lazuli gives spiritual guidance.
The feathers are all cruelty-free.
Both necklace and earrings aren't heavy at all.
Take care when around small children, as they'll want to pull the feathers
The crochet necklace is 48 cm long (in the round),
the necklace centerpiece and feathers are 14,5 cm long and 4,5 cm wide.
The earrings are about 11 cm long and a little over 3 cm wide.
The earrings and necklace can be sold separately as well, contact me for prices.
